Cleaner bags life jail for sexually assaulting baby in church

The Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Monday sentenced a 27-year-old cleaner, Saviour Udoh, to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl on a church premises. Justice Ramon Oshodi held that the prosecution was able to prove the offence of defilement against the convict without reasonable doubt, stating that the defendant’s action was reprehensible and deserving of the maximum punishment under the law. Udoh was arraigned on February 5, 2020, on a count of sexual assault by penetration preferred against him by the state, to which he pleaded not guilty. According to the prosecution counsel, I.D. Solarin, the offence committed by Udoh contravened Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The court heard that the incident occurred on December 12, 2018, on the premises of a prominent Pentecostal church in Ikeja, Lagos. Gunmen abduct pregnant woman due for delivery in Ogun

  A pregnant woman identified as Ogunbunmi Lateef has reportedly been kidnapped by armed men in Ogun State. Ogunbunmi was said to have left her home in Oke Lantoro for the State General Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta before her reported abduction. Her husband, Ogunbunmi Lateef, was also reported to have received a WhatsApp message notifying him of his wife’s kidnap by these abductors. Confirming the incident, on Thursday in a statement on her X handle, the spokesperson for the state police command, Omolola Odutola, said the abduction had been reported to the command. Odutola wrote, “One Ogunbunmi Lateef of Oke Lantoro reported that his pregnant wife due for delivery left home for State Hospital Ijaiye Abeokuta. “He received a WhatsApp message confirming the abduction of his wife by unknown armed men.”

G*nmen this afternoon shot and killed an aboki man selling rice and beans at Oja Bisi It was reported that he was hawking when the killers came on a bike and fired at him. This is barely some hours after a popular pos man was killed adjacent to the gate of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti. Also, another person was shot yesterday night at Ori Apata,  It is not clear whether the killers are same group. FAST GIST MEDIA gathered from witnesses that the pattern of operation of the killers suggests a reprisal attacks by cult groups.   Gunmen K!!l Popular PoS Operator in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State Capital. Report reaching says, gunmen in the early hours of Thursday shot and killed a Point of Sale agent popularly known as Alfa. This is coming barely 48hrs after a union executive of commercial motorcyclists was killed also in broad daylight. The incident happened at the shop of the victim which is located adjacent the gate of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti. Alfa is well known in the area with the display of bread on his vehicle and always available with cash. According to reports, the gunmen who came on a motorbike shot at Alfa and made away with his money and other valuables.One person who was transacting with him when the incident happened was said to have also sustained injury. Though, police is yet to confirm the incident, the body of the deceased has been deposited in the morgue.
